WHAT ENGLEWOOD, VENICE AND BOCA GRANDE BEACHES ARE OPEN OR CLOSED AFTER HURRICANE MILTON?
There has been plenty of destruction along the beaches, but some have opened back up. Hurricane Helene and Milton moved so much sand that it has caused either terrible erosion in some places or mountains of sand. ​​

A storm recovery contractor is being secured for the repairs of park amenities. It is anticipated that the park amenity repairs will be completed by Spring 2026. However, the park is open to public access. Parking, restrooms , and beach access are all available. The portion of Manasota Key Rd. adjacent to the park was washed out. Road repairs are not anticipated to be completed for 2-3 years. Access to the park is by water or from the south through Charlotte County and the Tom Adams Bridge. Updated 3/1/2025.

Hurricane Milton related debris and sand management has been completed. Damages to the parking lots, boardwalks, and restroom facility are being assessed. A recovery contractor is being secured for the repairs. Harbor Dr. leading into the park is washed out which limits park amenity and utility recovery efforts. It anticipated that the road will be repaired in 2-4 years. Staff is assessing potential options for opening the park to pedestrian and bicycle access prior.

The park is open to the public. However, a portion of the parking lot is closed due to storm damages. A contract is being secured for the necessary repairs. Permanent repair work will begin with an anticipated completion of Spring 2026. These repairs will address parking lots, fencing, the playground, and other park amenities. Currently all amenities are open to the public including the concession. Updated 3/1/2025.

The beach access points that are open are: 1st Street, 10th Street, 11th Street, 12th Street, 14th Street, 17th Street and 19th Street.
