ENGLEWOOD BEACHES WATER TEMPERATURES
The water temperature at Englewood's Beaches vary dramatically depending on what time of year and recent weather patterns.

During the winter, cold fronts cause the water to cool, not only by the cool air temperatures, but the winds can cause upwelling in the Gulf, by bringing cooler water to the surface.

The summer water temperatures are warm! Sometimes, they can feel too warm if the outside temperature is hot too.

ENGLEWOOD BEACHES - SAND, SHELLS AND SHARK TEETH
The sand around Englewood beaches are white, and little gritty (not the softest, but still pleasant).
There are plenty of shells along all the beaches. At the busy beaches there are less, but a short (or long) walk away from the crowds you will certainly find more.

Shark teeth hunting is very popular in Englewood. Good chance, you will see people sifting through the sand and water looking for shark teeth.

The water color around Englewood's beaches are a blue green.

Water can get exceptionally clear depending on the weather. In the wintertime, winds from off the Gulf can create waves and turbulence, which can negatively affect the clarity of the water.
During the summer months, there is less wind or wind coming from the land and moving offshore. This creates a beautiful flat water surface and crystal clear waters.
